Strictly British
wants to offer English arts and letters in Hamburg
with fun and style! The British literary world is
full of great writers and brilliant minds ... and
they are worth being read in their original. Every
one of them shall be paid attention at the Strictly
British events - those, who were the blazing stars
of literary history and those, who are on the bestseller
lists today. Our literary material is read by English
native speakers, actors or by the authors themselves
and are embedded in music and pictures. Depending
on the literary pieces, the setting is chosen and
decorated e.g. in a chique hall with a fireplace,
cosy sofas and tea sets or in a dark and smoky pub
with beer and vinegar crisps. Strictly British is
going to present new works and to re-animate the
classics. And by doing so, it creates a forum for
everybody who is interested in English - compatriots,
pupils, teachers, students and every person who
just likes the British lifestyle.

Die Veranstaltungsreihe
Strictly British beendet die Suche nach kulturellen
Angeboten in englischer Sprache in Hamburg. Die
britischen Klassiker und ihre modernen Nachfahren
verdienen es, im Original gelesen und genossen zu
werden und deswegen finden sie bei Strictly British
Gehör und Beachtung. Vorgetragen werden die
Stücke von Muttersprachlern, Schauspielern oder
den Autoren selbst und – je nach Genre –
von Musik, Bildern und Eindrücken begleitet.
Mal ganz klassisch in gemütlicher Kaminatmosphäre,
mal in der heruntergekommenen Kneipe bei Bier und
Essig-Chips. Strictly British stellt Neues vor und
lässt Bewährtes wieder aufleben. Damit bietet
die Reihe Landsmännern und -frauen, genau wie
Englisch Lernenden, Studenten oder ganz einfach
dem Inselfan ein ganz besonderes Forum.
